person's unique story. He strives to create a space where individuals feel heard,

step—even when the path ahead feels uncertain.

Sydney is MSW Clinical Intern of Catharsis Counseling Center

Sydney is in her last year for University of Kentucky’s Master’s of Social Work program. She is currently in her second internship working with the Catharsis Counseling Center. Sydney decided to pursue Social Work as a career due to her strong passion for making a change in community mental health and eagerness to break down the stigma surrounding mental health. She approaches her work from an empathetic, environmental, humanistic, and person-centered point of view. She recognizes that every person is their own unique combination of life experiences, values, and characteristics and highlights these traits when creating an individualized plan for each client.

Before her Social Work, Sydney worked in a variety of financial positions such as mortgages and insurance. She also worked doing equine group therapy and utilization management at an inpatient behavioral health facility, giving her a unique perspective on the ins and outs of the mental health industry.

In her free time, Sydney spends as much time as she can outside while also trying to avoid the Arizona heat. Her favorite outdoor activity is paddleboarding. Sydney is openly LGBTQIA+ and welcomes all genders/identities.
